Father Belczak returns to parish, no criminal mismanagement found

PLYMOUTH, Mich. – The Archdiocese of Detroit announced Saturday the return of Father Thomas A. Belczak as pastor of St. Kenneth Parish in Plymouth.

Belczak was removed from the parish after allegations that he misused parish funds last year.

The FBI concluded its investigation and closed the matter.

The archdiocese is satisfied that there was not any criminal financial mismanagement.

"I am exceptionally grateful to Archbishop Alan Vigneron for his faith and confidence in restoring me as pastor of St. Kenneth Parish to continue my full ministerial pastoral duties," said Fr. Belczak. "I thank God, my family, friends, fellow priests and parishioners for all of their prayers, cards, letters and unwavering support during this difficult time. With God, strong faith, hope and prayers, all things are possible."
