DETROIT – After a dismal 1-6 start to the season, the Detroit Lions have fired offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi, offensive line coach Jeremiah Washburn and offensive line assistant coach Terry Heffernan.
This was Lombardi's second season as Lions offensive coordinator. Jim Bob Cooter has been named his successor. Cooter has been the team's quarterbacks coach.
