Christine Beatty is back in Detroit

Beatty left the state after affair with Kwame Kilpatrick was made public

Christine Beatty was former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick’s secret lover. She moved to Atlanta to escape the spotlight after their affair was made public, but she’s back in Detroit with a new reality TV show and talk radio show on AM 910.

In an interview with Local 4 Defender Kevin Dietz, Beatty said her show will focus on redemption and how to move forward and reclaim what you’ve lost in your life.

Kilpatrick is serving a 28-year prison sentence for racketeering. Beatty, an unnamed co-conspirator, cooperated with the investigation and wasn’t charged.

“I really don’t want to answer any more questions about Kwame. I mean, of course I hope and pray he gets a new trial and released,” Beatty said. “I’m focusing on the mistakes I made and own and moving forward.”

Beatty’s radio show airs each Saturday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Her TV show, “From the Bottom Up,” airs on BET.
