M-1 Rail in Detroit will be called 'QLINE'

DETROIT – The streetcar line being constructed along Woodward Avenue in Detroit will be called the "QLINE."

The rail line, now formerly referred to as the M-1 Rail project, stretches 3.3 miles from Downtown Detroit to West Grand Boulevard. It's expected to begin operating early next year.

“The launch of QLINE marks a significant moment in the development of Detroit. Quicken Loans is proud to play our part in the beginning stages of modernizing the transit system in our burgeoning urban core,” said Jay Farner, president and chief marketing officer of Quicken Loans, in a news release.
