Howell High School teacher arraigned on child porn charges

HOWELL, Mich. – A Howell High School teacher was arraigned Thursday afternoon on charges of child pornography.

Duane Millar was charged with possession of child sexually abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime.

Millar was a teacher and a coach. He has been place on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation conducted by Michigan State Police.

"The safety and well-being of our students is of the utmost importance to our district. We are deeply concerned by the charges brought against Mr. Millar and will continue to cooperate with the Michigan State Police as they complete their investigation," said Erin MacGregor, Howell Public Schools superintendent.

MSP said they do not believe that any Howell Public Schools students are involved in the situation at this time.
