Fire breaks out at Ford Flat Rock Assembly Plant

FLAT ROCK, Mich. – A fire broke out Tuesday evening at the Ford Flat Rock Assembly Plant.

Outdoor storage racks caught fire at about 7 p.m. and multiple agencies responded to put out the flames.

The plant was evacuated and no injuries have been reported.

Ford Motor Company released the following statement:

"No one was injured when a fire broke out on the exterior of the building of Flat Rock Assembly Plant around 7:00 p.m. A corner of the building caught fire and employees in that area were quickly evacuated. The cause of the fire is under investigation."

Ford also said that work will resume at the plant Wednesday.
