According to police, Czapiewski and Jalen Davis, 20, of Detroit, were drinking at a home in the 18400 block of Oakfield Avenue, which is near 7 Mile Road and the Southfield Freeway. The home belongs to Czapiewski’s girlfriend.
At about 5:30 a.m., there was an argument and it is alleged that Czapiewski grabbed a knife from the kitchen and fatally stabbed Davis in the neck.
The 911 operator tried to walk the young girl through giving CPR to the victim, but he died.
Police said Czapiewski initially fled the scene, but was arrested on the same street.
Czapiewski is expected to be arraigned Friday.
