Lovett allegedly poured lighter fluid on his fiancée’s chest and set her on fire at the Skipper Motel on Groesbeck Highway, where police said the couple lived. After setting her on fire, he held her against her will until he passed out drunk, according to police.

“For him to stand there and just watch me burn and not help me try to put me out or nothing, you don’t have a soul,” Ann Marie Florio said.”

He is also accused of breaking her cellphone so she couldn’t call 911, police said.

Florio was taken to McLaren Hospital and treated at Detroit Receiving Hospital.

Lovett’s father, Robert Pack, was at the arraignment and told Local 4 his son has trouble with alcohol. Pack said his son didn’t know why he was in jail when they first spoke.
