Grosse Pointe South locked down briefly after student claims to have weapon

Superintendent says student's claims were not true

GROSSE POINTE FARMS, Mich. – Grosse Pointe South High School was on lockdown briefly Tuesday afternoon, Grosse Pointe Farms police confirmed.

The school superintendent said a student inside the school was making threats and claimed he had a weapon. The superintendent said it turned out the student did not have a weapon.

The lockdown is expected to be lifted soon.
