23-year-old man shot, killed in Detroit's Midtown

Shooting on Second and Canfield

DETROIT – A 23-year-old man was shot and killed early Sunday morning in Detroit's Midtown neighborhood.

Detroit police said the shooting took place around 3:10 a.m., Sunday morning.

A 23-year-old man and his friends were walking in the street at Second and Canfield. They heard shots being fired.

The 23-year-old was shot in the left armpit, left leg and arm. He was taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital, where he later died.

Detroit police describe the suspect as an unknown black male wearing a green jacket.

He was armed with an unknown handgun. The suspect fled in a white 4 door Chevy SS Impala.
