ROYAL OAK, Mich. – A 26-year-old Fraser man has been charged with stealing a minivan and breaking into cars in Royal Oak and nearby areas.
Christopher Rockne Straw is charged with receiving and concealing stolen property -- motor vehicle, financial transaction device-stealing/retaining without consent, resisting/obstructing a police officer and attempted breaking and entering a vehicle to steal property less than $200.

Police said they responded to reports of a suspicious person in dark clothing in the area of Charlotte Avenue and Woodside Road. Witnesses told police the man was tampering with several vehicles in the area.
Police followed fresh footprints in the snow that led to a parked 2004 Ford FreeStar, which was reported stolen from Oak Park.
The footprints led officers through several backyards and saw Straw running through a backyard near Gardner and Rochester Road, where he was caught and arrested.
Straw was found to have a valid felony warrant and was recently released from state parole.
Investigators found Straw traveled to the area in the stolen FreeStar and was in possession of items stolen from several vehicles.
Straw was arraigned and given a $27,500 bond. He is scheduled to return to court Jan. 20.
