BROWNSTOWN, Mich. – A man in a dark green minivan pulled up to a young boy Monday at a bus stop and asked him to get in the van, Brownstown police said.
Police responded to reports at the bus stop in the Hamptons Apartments near building 12. Witnesses said a newer dark green minivan, possibly a Dodge Caravan, pulled up next to a student and asked him to get in the van.

The student had no physical contact with the driver and was taken back to his house by a relative, where he waited until the bus arrived, police said.
The minivan was seen driving slowly around the area after the encounter, witnesses said.
Witnesses described the driver as a white man in his 40s or 50s. He was clean-cut with his hair combed back and wearing glasses.
No license plate information was obtained, and police have not identified the van or the driver.
Brownstown police are investigating the incident. They reminded residents to be aware of surroundings and to tell children not to approach strangers. Any similar encounters should be reported to police.
