Drunken driver arrested with BAC 4 times legal limit in Bloomfield Township

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 46-year-old Parma, Ohio, man was arrested Feb. 17 in Bloomfield Township for driving with a blood-alcohol content nearly four times the legal limit, police said.

Police received a call around 9:30 a.m. Friday about a possible drunken driver on Telegraph Road. They saw a silver Ford Fusion heading north on Telegraph Road near Lone Pine Road that was weaving through traffic and nearly sideswiping other cars.

Officers pulled over the Fusion and spoke with the driver, who said he was on his way to Findlay, Ohio. He couldn't explain why he was driving north.

Christopher Robertson, 46, failed a series of sobriety tests and was arrested for operating while intoxicated. His blood-alcohol level was nearly four times the legal limit, police said.

Robertson was taken to the hospital and medically cleared. Officers took him to the police station until he was sober.

Robertson was arraigned in 48th District Court and is scheduled to have a hearing on March 15.
