DETROIT – A Detroit man was charged Monday with carjacking his cousin's car, dragging another woman with the car and leading police on a chase before he was arrested.
Police said Curtis Bradford, 27, was a passenger in his 21-year-old cousin's car on Saturday when she stopped around 5:15 p.m. at a gas station in the 12100 block of Livernois Avenue.

When Bradford's cousin refused to drive him to another location, police said he got angry, pulled out a handgun and fired a shot. His cousin fled the car after the shot was fired.
Bradford got into the driver's seat and started to drive, dragging another woman who was in the car, police said. He stopped after a short distance to let her get out.
Police officers said they found Bradford and the stolen car, but he refused to pull over. He led them on a chase before crashing the car and being taken into custody.
Bradford is charged with carjacking, armed robbery, extortion, unlawful driving away of an automobile, receiving and concealing a stolen motor vehicle, carrying a weapon with unlawful intent, third-degree fleeing and eluding, being a felon in possession of a firearm and a second-degree felony firearms violation.
He is expected to be arraigned Monday in 36th District Court.
