6 recall petitions for Warren Mayor Jim Fouts rejected by Macomb County Election Commission

MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. – The Macomb County Election Commission met Monday to discuss recall petitions aimed at Warren Mayor Jim Fouts.

City activist Joseph Hunt submitted six petitions for review.

All six petitions were rejected.

Fouts has been the center of multiple scandals over the last few months, including leaked audio recordings of Fouts allegedly making offensive comments about children with special needs, blacks and women. Another scandal is the state’s investigation into a potential violation of campaign-finance laws.

Local 4’s Priya Mann is at the hearing and will have a live report at 5 p.m.
