DETROIT – Two men were charged in connection to the shooting of a music video over the weekend on Detroit’s west side where officers fired shots believing a robbery was in progress.
Dushon Shepherd, 26, and Keenan Black, 39, both of Detroit, are charged with disturbing the peace.
The men were shooting a music video when officers arrived on the scene. Film crews caught the shooting on video.
According to police, the two men were armed with what appeared to handguns when they approached a vehicle Saturday at about 7 p.m. at the corner of McNichols Road and Lindsay Street.
Police believed they were robbing a man sitting in the vehicle. One of the officers discharged his weapon. No one was injured.
Both men were taken into custody. The handguns they were using were fake and the robbery was a scene staged for a video that was being filmed.
Viewer video shows the aftermath of the shooting as the men were taken into custody.
Both men are expected to be arraigned Tuesday.
