2 passengers test positive for hantavirus as a third shows symptoms after cruise ship evacuation

A French woman and an American tested positive for the hantavirus, as nations around the world scrambled Monday to repatriate passengers from a cruise ship hit by a deadly outbreak and quarantine or isolate them.

Passengers from the ship began flying home aboard military and government planes Sunday after the MV Hondius anchored in the Canary Islands. Personnel in full-body protective gear and breathing masks escorted the travelers from ship to shore in Tenerife, an effort that continued Monday.

Accused of drunk driving crash at 17 years old, now Macomb County man convicted of murder

He was accused in a drunk driving crash when he was 17 years old, and now a Macomb County man has been convicted of murder.

According to authorities, Jack Robb, 20, of Macomb Township, was driving nearly 90 mph when he blew a red light in Shelby Township on Jan. 7, 2024. Police said he was driving north on Hayes Road when he struck a westbound car on 21 Mile Road.
