DETROIT – Neighborhood Service Organization is teaming up with Ilitch Holdings Inc. to help the community.
Over the last two weeks, construction fences have been erected around many of the empty lots that populate Cass Corridor. NSO and Ilitch Holdings have come together to help provide low-cost housing for the dispossessed in the neighborhood just a few blocks away from Little Caesars Arena.
“We need a larger place to provide the services we’re trying to provide,” said NSO CEO Sheilah Clay.
They plan to build a new apartment complex and homeless shelter in the area. The fenced-in areas are to be used as an outdoor gathering spot while the clients wait for the new facility to be constructed.
