The man said he left his convertible running in the driveway while he was inside the house. When he walked outside, his car was missing.

The car has an electronic ignition, and the owner had the key fob. His Apple iPhone was also in the stolen car, police said.

Officials tracked the iPhone to a parking lot at Avon and Rochester roads. The convertible was found in the parking lot of a church near the intersection.

Deputies saw two people walking away from the building, and they were arrested. A K-9 unit established a track from where the two teens were arrested to the stolen convertible.

During the investigation, a third teen was identified and taken into custody at his home.

The three teens, ages 19, 16 and 15, were taken to the Rochester Hills Substation, where they were interviewed and released pending further investigation.

Detectives from the Auto Theft Unit are continuing the investigation.
