Pittsfield Township Molly Maid worker saves three-month-old baby's life

PITTSFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A maid was recognized Tuesday for her heroism after she saved a three-month-old baby in Pittsfield Township by providing CPR.

Molly Maid employee Dawn Dohn arrived at a home in the Ann Arbor neighborhood last week when the homeowner went into a panic. Tracy Rumfelt’s infant child Cassidy had suddenly stopped breathing and was turning blue.

"When I got her into the light, I noticed her lips were blue," Rumfelt said. "I hit panic mode -- starting calling a bunch of people."

Dohn entered the house and immediately called 911 and was coached over the phone on how to provide CPR to the infant. She administered mouth-to-mouth CPR until paramedic Eric Youngblood arrived.

After Youngblood took Cassidy to the hospital, doctors believed she swallowed phlegm that blocked her airway, making CPR crucial to saving her life.

"I thought she was going to die in my arms," said Rumfelt. "Thank god, he sent me some angels."

Dohn received $1,000 from her job and coworkers as a thank you.

The child is at home recovering.
