This animation from KING 5's Glenn Farley and Kevin Glantz depicts the moment an Amtrak train derailed Monday near DuPont, Wash.
Authorities said the Amtrak Cascades 501 was making its first trip on a new service route between Seattle and Portland when most of its train cars derailed, tumbling several of them off the I-5 overpass with rush hour traffic below.
Three people were killed while more than 100 others were injured.
