WARREN, Mich. – A man who broke into a house in Warren to steal Christmas gifts fed treats to the family's dog during the burglary, officials said.
UPDATE: Detroit man charged after breaking into Warren home to steal Christmas gifts
The homeowner, who has a 7-year-old daughter, recently bought the dog to keep burglars out, police said.
Surveillance footage shows the man feeding the dog treats to keep it calm during the burglary. He then took Christmas gifts from the home before fleeing.

Police said they are still searching for the man.
