Bank robbery at Cornerstone Community Financial Credit Union in Auburn Hills

Police are looking for a man wanted in connection to an Auburn Hills bank robbery that occured on July 26, 2018. (WDIV)

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Police arrested a 38-year-old man from Detroit who was wanted in connection to a bank robbery that occurred Thursday in Auburn Hills.

According to authorities, just before 1 p.m., a man entered the Cornerstone Community Financial Credit Union located on University Drive. He implied he had a gun, robbed the bank and left with an undisclosed amount of money. He fled westbound from the bank on foot. An Oakland County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit was unable to locate the man.

With the assistance of the Special Investigations Unit -- a consortium of cities consisting of officers from Auburn Hills, Birmingham, Bloomfield Township, Madison Heights, Royal Oak and Troy -- the man was located and apprehended the night of the robbery in Detroit near the intersection of John R. Street and Mack Avenue.
