Detroit woman charged with first-degree murder after roommate fatally stabbed
Akilah Swift (WDIV)
DETROIT – Akilah Swift was charged Thursday in connection with the fatal stabbing of Wendel Duplesis.
Swift, 39, is accused of stabbing Duplesis multiple times after an argument Sunday morning at their residence in the 4140 block of Saint Antoine Street. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Swift was taken into custody at a different location Sunday.
Swift was charged and arraigned on one count of first-degree premeditated murder. She is expected to return to court Nov. 20.
