NASA to crash spacecraft into asteroid: Learn about mission from U-M researcher

This Monday, NASA crashes a spacecraft into an asteroid at 15,000 mph. It’s a test to see if we can deflect the path of an asteroid headed on a collision course with Earth (this one isn’t headed our way).

I did a great piece about the mission (and its local connection – a U of M researcher) this past November.

The piece holds up VERY well today, and you should plan on prominently posting it on Monday…this is going to be HUGE news Monday evening…especially if we get video of the spacecraft heading into the asteroid.

Watch the story in the video player above.
