An arrest of two people, William Cornacchia and Amber Six, in September 2016 led investigators to others involved in the manufacturing and distribution of meth, records showed. A third person, Steven Monzo, led investigators to more defendants.

According to investigations, Richard Barnes, also known as Richie, was found to be a meth cook. A cooperating witness admitted to purchasing meth from Barnes on at least six occasions, according to records. Barnes has lived with Cornacchia or Monzo. Records also showed that Barnes also has provided pseudoephedrine to both men. Pseudoephedrine, one of the main ingredients used to make meth, is often obtained by purchasing cough medication.

When Monzo was arrested by the FBI in October 2016, he was in a hotel in Port Huron with Kimberly Gordon. Records showed drug paraphernalia, meth and approximately $920 were found in the room, according to records. Records stated Gordon admitted the meth belonged to Monzo.

At the time of Monzo’s arrest, Gordon had outstanding warrants for shoplifting and retail fraud. According to records, cooperating witnesses said Gordon would purchase pseudoephedrine for Monzo.

When attempting to locate Monzo in October 2016, the FBI visited the home of Melissa Goodman and Donald Morell, also known as DJ. Records showed Morell admitted he allowed Monzo to cook meth in his barn before. He also said he saw Barnes and Monzo cooking meth in his barn earlier in the day.

According to records, a cooperating witness said Morell would supply Monzo with pseudoephedrine and would buy meth from him. Records showed Morell and Monzo purchased pseudoephedrine from a Walgreens in Port Huron on the same day in July 2013.

Records also showed Jezreel Grinnell, also known as Jazzy, would purchase pseudoephedrine for Monzo as well. The National Precursors Log Exchange, a database that tracks the sale of pseudoephedrine, showed Grinnell purchased it approximately 55 times between February 2012 and October 2016.

Cooperating witnesses said Erik Radatz and Falen Radatz purchased pseudoephedrine for Cornacchia and bought meth from him, records showed. According to records, even after investigations and arrests of Cornacchia, the Radatz’s continue to purchase pseudoephedrine.

Records showed Kady Cope also provided Cornacchia with pseudoephedrine in exchange for meth. Cope admitted she used meth several times a month when found in the home of Cornacchia and Six during the execution of search and arrest warrants in September 2016, according to records.

Barnes, Cope, Gordon, Morell, Grinnell, Erik Radatz and Falen Radatz are scheduled to appear in court at 1 p.m. Wednesday for a detention hearing.
