Detroit mother Maryanne Godboldo, who fought against giving daughter medication, dies

DETROIT – Maryanne Godboldo died Wednesday morning.

She was involved in a legal battle because she didn't want her daughter to take medication that her defense said had horrible side effects on her behavior and could even prove fatal.

Godboldo was accused of firing a shot when police tried to remove her physically impaired daughter from her home in 2011.

The case against Godboldo was dismissed earlier this year after she suffered an aneurysm last year.
