Detroit woman robs bank to buy crab legs, Air Jordans and host BBQ

Note to bank teller demanded money 'or things would get bloody'

LIVONIA, Mich. – A 25-year-old Detroit woman was arrested Tuesday after being accused of robbing a Livonia bank to get money for crab legs, Air Jordan shoes and a weekend barbecue.

Livonia police said Chloe Adams walked into the Citizens Bank Saturday morning at 28999 Five Mile Road. She handed the bank teller a note demanding $10,000, "or things would get bloody," according to police.

Adams left the bank with around $5,000.

Adams was arrested Tuesday at her home, police said. She told police she spent most of the stolen money on a car loan, a trip to Chicago, crab legs, hosting a weekend barbecue and Air Jordan athletic shoes.

Officials said they searched her home and found evidence that linked her to the robbery.

Adams was charged Thursday with one count of bank robbery. She is being held on $1 million bail.

A probable-cause conference is scheduled for June 8, and a preliminary exam is scheduled for June 15.

There were no injuries during the bank robbery, police said.
