Eminem's ex-wife Kim Mathers sentenced to year of probation for DUI crash

Kim Mathers, who is rapper Eminem's ex-wife, was sentenced Tuesday morning for driving under the influence.

Mathers avoided a trial when she pleaded guilty to the charge in October. Her lawyer said there were no terms to the plea. She was sentenced to one year of probation, must pay $900 in fines and must continue treatment. As part of her probation, Mathers must be drug tested four times per month.

The crash happened in October 2015 in Macomb Township. According to the police report, Mathers told police she'd drank a fifth of Malibu rum and crashed the car on purpose.

As charges moved forward in April, the court case was sealed, leading many to wonder if she was getting special treatment. But after Local 4 obtained the dashcam video, the case was reopened to the public.

"I just want to put this all behind me," Mathers said after she pleaded guilty.

The judge made a point to say she's not getting special treatment and this was standard for anyone's first DUI.
