DEARBORN, Mich. – For hours, crowds of people came to pay their final respects to former Michigan Rep. John Dingell. At one point there was a two-hour wait to get in.

Dingell's wife, Rep. Debbie Dingell, and his children stood by his coffin for 13 hours.

“Time is nothing, when he gave all his time to the people of Michigan,” said Rose Olson.
Many people waited in line and as they did they shared stories and memories of John Dingell. His colleagues from his 59 years in office came to pay their respects. That includes Democrats and Republicans.
“You can see this outpouring of people, these were his people,” said former Gov. Jim Blanchard. “These are the people who sent John Dingell to Congress for 59 years -- or their parents or grandparents."
