Kimball Twp. shooting investigation leads police to drug stash, stolen firearm

PORT HURON TOWNSHIP, Mich. - The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of shots fired Thursday night in Kimball Township.

Authorities said the investigation that started at Griswold Road led law enforcement officers to a residence on Little Street in Port Huron Township, where they located a 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, who were both taken into custody.

After obtaining search warrants for the property and the vehicle the men were driving, police said they discovered 89 grams of heroin, 27 grams of marijuana, a 9mm handgun that was reported stolen out of Southfield and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia.

Authorities believe the incident was the result of a dispute over money.

Both men are being held at St. Clair County Intervention Center awaiting arraignment for attempted armed robbery, possession with intent, possession of a stolen firearm and felony firearm charges.
