The temperature is 85 ... the sun is shining brightly and there's a slight breeze in the air. And that has nothing to do with the excitement that you feel here.

This is all about the anticipation of the 2012 Detroit Tigers.
Watching them workout Wednesday might take one back to the Yankees of the early 60s. Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris provided the power. Whitey Ford was the ace of the pitching staff.
Here in Lakeland the roles of Maris and Mantle have been replaced by Prince Fielder and Miguel Cabrera. As for Whitey Ford...Justin Verlander fills that spot rather nicely.
These Tigers are loaded.
Jim Leyland is the modern day Casey Stengel. If there's a weakness on this team it might be the fact that there are no weaknesses on this team.
The Tigers are loaded from top to bottom. And I mean loaded like a baked potato with every topping imaginable.
This should be an amazing summer in Detroit and the fall will be pretty darn good too.
