Police: Michigan teen dies after falling from condo balcony in Florida while on spring break
Officials say alcohol is believed to be a factor

DESTIN, Fla. – A teenager from Michigan who was on spring break died after falling from a balcony in Florida.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office shared on Facebook that a 17-year-old from Grand Rapids fell from a fourth-floor balcony at a Destin condominium early Tuesday morning. Destin is located in the Florida panhandle, west of Tallahassee.

A person staying at a neighboring condo noticed the teen’s body on the ground near an entryway outside a building on Gulf Shore Drive around 4:10 a.m. Officials say that they called 911 for a welfare check.
First responders reported that the teenager was dead on the scene.
Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office officials say that alcohol is believed to be a factor. The investigation is ongoing.
