DEARBORN, Mich. – An 81-year-old pedestrian was killed after he was struck by a vehicle in Dearborn.
The incident occurred Wednesday (Feb. 14) on Beech Street near Monroe Street at 5:26 p.m.

Officials say the driver was traveling westbound on Beech Street when making contact with the elderly man who suffered severe injuries.
The 81-year-old man was transported to a hospital by Dearborn Fire Rescue, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Police say the driver remained at the scene and has been identified.
At this time, alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
