Michigan State Police say scene has been secured

ROYAL OAK TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 27-year-old man was shot and killed at a Baymont Inn in Oakland County, according to Michigan State Police.

Police began the investigation at 10:20 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, at the American Inn and Suites on West 8 Mile Road in Royal Oak Township. The 27-year-old man was pronounced dead at the hotel and there were no other reported injuries.

Police said the the scene has been secured and the “suspect is no longer on scene.” Police are expected to release more information as the investigation continues.

A large police presence is expected at the hotel for several hours. Anyone with information is asked to contact 855-MICH-TIP or Crime Stoppers at 800-SPEAK-UP. All tips to Crime Stoppers are anonymous.
