Officials say they pulled the 27-year-old man over, but he refused police commands, and then he drove off, striking the foot of an officer.

Austin-Folson eventually stopped, and officers arrested him.

A separate officer responding to the scene was struck by another vehicle en route. The responding officer was transported to the hospital and listed in stable condition.

Austin-Folson was charged in 37th Warren District Court, where bond was set at $100,000 cash/surety.

A probable cause hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, March 26.

“This arrest serves as a testament to the unwavering commitment of the Warren Police Department to pursue those who attempt to evade accountability,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
