Here’s when Michigan drivers must stop for a school bus by law

In most scenarios, drivers in Michigan are required to stop when a school bus does -- but authorities in Metro Detroit say many drivers have been ignoring this rule.

In every state in the U.S., drivers are legally obligated to stop when a school bus is stopped and its “stop-arm” -- a post with a stop sign on it -- is extended, or when its red lights are flashing. The rules vary slightly from state to state, but in almost every case: If you’re sharing the road with a school bus that comes to a stop, you should stop, too.

Detroit police release horrific new details in death of 3-year-old girl

Police have released more information regarding the 3-year-old girl who a trusted friend of the family reportedly killed.

Iesha Marie Harris faces charges of felony murder and first-degree child abuse in connection with the death of Harmoni Henderson.

Capt. Laurie Carter leads the Detroit Police Special Victims Unit, which investigates domestic violence, sexual assaults and child abuse. She saw the result of unimaginable child abuse first-hand when she responded to the hospital on Sunday, March 17.
