21-year-old charged in 2 separate knife attacks in Ann Arbor

Man given $1,500,000 total bond

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – A 21-year-old from Ann Arbor is facing several charges -- including attempted murder -- in connection with two knife attacks.

Noah Williams is accused of holding a knife to a 32-year-old man’s throat after the two bumped into each other inside the Target store at the intersection of Liberty and State streets on Monday, April 1. The prosecutor said Williams told the man he would kill him.

Days later, Williams reportedly slashed a woman across her chest on an Ann Arbor Area Transit Authority bus after the two had bumped into each other on Wednesday, April 3. Prosecutors said it was his regular bus and that he was known to passengers as trouble.

The woman was taken to a hospital with serious injuries but has since been released.

Williams was charged Thursday, April 4, with assault with a dangerous weapon and misdemeanor assault and battery in connection with the Target incident and assault with attempt to murder and assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder or by strangulation for the bus stabbing.

Williams was given a $750,000 cash/surety, no 10% bond in each incident, bringing his total bond to $1,500,000. He remains lodged at the Washtenaw County Jail.
