Charges pending in deadly shooting of Melvindale officer Michael Lopez is accused of shooting and killing Mohamed Said
MELVINDALE, Mich. – Charges could come this week in the deadly shooting of an Amelvindale police officer, Mohamed Said.
Michael Lopez, 44, was arrested on Monday (July 22) night at a home in southwest Detroit.
Lopez is accused of shooting Said on Sunday morning, July 21, 2024.
The Wayne County Prosecutors Office says no arraignment date has been set.
In the meantime, funeral services for the officer are later this week .
