Driver critically injures roadworker on I-75

Southbound lanes closed for police investigation

DETROIT – A worker who was setting a flare pattern on I-75 in Detroit was critically injured when a driver struck him.

The crash happened just before 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the southbound lanes, near Springwells Street. Police said a 71-year-old driver from Allen Park entered the right lane and hit the worker, who was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.
