DETROIT – The Detroit Police Department is seeking help regarding a hit-and-run near the campus of Wayne State University.
The incident occurred on Wednesday (Dec. 19) around 2 p.m. when a 23-year-old man was crossing the intersection at Amsterdam Street and Woodward Avenue.

Officials said the victim was struck by an unknown driver in a red Satarn with a possible spare tire or donut on the left rear tire.
The driver then dragged the victim 30-40 feet, stopped, then went into reverse, running over his body near the Wayne State University Police Department station before fleeing the scene.
Officials updated the situation and said the victim was expected to be OK.
