DETROIT – A Detroit man has been charged in connection to the fatal shooting of his girlfriend, officials said.

Jazzie Jermale Love, 34, was arraigned on the charges of first-degree murder, carrying a concealed weapon and felony firearm.

The shooting happened at 7:21 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16, at a liquor store in the 10700 block of West Eight Mile Road.

When officers responded, they found the victim, 32-year-old Uniqua Sanders, also of Detroit, in her car outside the store, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Medics pronounced her dead at the scene.

Love and Sanders allegedly got into an argument inside the car, according to the prosecutor’s office.

During that argument, Love allegedly exited the passenger’s seat, went to the driver’s side and shot Sanders in the head.

His probable cause conference is scheduled for Jan. 28, and his preliminary examination is set for Feb. 4.
