Macomb County donut shop employee shoots, kills armed robber at business

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – An employee at a Macomb County donut shop shot and killed an alleged armed robber at the business Thursday afternoon.

According to police, a man in his mid-30s walked into Golden Donuts off Harper Avenue on Feb. 20, 2025, at around 12:45 p.m. and brandished what appeared to be a gun while demanding cash.

An employee also took out a gun during the armed robbery and shot the suspect. The man then drove away from the scene.

Detectives found the suspect a short distance away in the car and transported him to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Investigators interviewed the employee at the Clinton Township Police Department, and they were released pending further investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.
