DETROIT – There’s a risk of severe storms this weekend in Metro Detroit, and an isolated tornado is possible.

Thunderstorm chances begin on Friday afternoon and early evening, and they pick up again Saturday afternoon and evening.

Rain chances continue into Saturday night, with high temperatures around 70 and lows in the low 50s.

Sunday is the day with the highest chance of strong to severe thunderstorms.

All of Southeast Michigan is under a “slight” risk of severe thunderstorms, which is the second risk level on a scale of five.

The strongest storms could bring gusty winds, hail, and the possibility of an isolated tornado.

Storm chances last into Sunday night as a cold front moves through the southeast part of the state.
