Detroit – Calling all foodies!
A membership-only dining club is coming to Detroit. It’s going to offer exclusive chef-led dining events around the Detroit, making it the 18th city in its nationwide dining club.
The Tasting Collective which was launched in New York City in 2016, teams up with restaurants across the country in select cities to present exclusive dinner, plus other perks. Cities include Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Las Vegas, New Orleans, New York, Philadelphia, Portland, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, Twin Cities, and Washington DC.
The dining club offers monthly, chef-inspired, exclusive multi-course dinners at independent restaurants. Tasting Collective membership has grown to nearly 15,000 nationwide since 2016.
An annual membership is $165. The first 500 members for the Detroit launch can join for $99 per person. Members get access to purchasing individual exclusive monthly dinner event tickets at $75 each. Guests can join members at dinner events, and those tickets are $95 each. Members can have up to three guests at each event and must be present.
At each restaurant event, chefs experiment and craft exclusive tasting menus. During the event, the chefs introduce each course, share stories, and answer questions. According to the website, as members dine, they evaluate the food on feedback cards, and the feedback is then shared directly with the chefs after each event.
The first restaurant to host the event for dining members will be May 19 at Coeur in Ferndale. That’s on Nine Mile west of Woodward Ave.
