Ford worker among 4 arrested in Wayne County auto parts theft ring

Arrest were made on May 6

WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – Four men, including a Ford worker, are in custody in an auto parts bust in Wayne County.

The arrests were made on Tuesday (May 6) after a months-long investigation by Dearborn police into allegations that the worker stole brand-new Ford vehicle parts and funneled them to a Detroit business for resale.

Investigators executed search warrants this week at homes in Dearborn and Canton and two Detroit businesses.

They say the stolen parts were taken from Ford’s Rouge complex, Michigan Assembly plant, and Flat Rock assembly plant.

The parts include hoods, bumpers, running boards, and headlights. We’re told Ford is cooperating with the investigation.

Local 4 reached out to the automakers for comment, and we’re awaiting a response.
