Detroit police investigating after armed suspect steals wallet, phone

No one was injured, police say

DETROIT – The Detroit Police Department is searching for a suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery.

The robbery happened at about 12:30 p.m. on Monday, May 5, in the 4700 block of East Outer Drive.

Police say the suspect, who was armed with a gun, walked up to two men and announced the robbery. He then allegedly took a wallet and a cellphone from one of the victims before leaving the area.

No one was injured, according to police.

The suspect is described as being in his early 20s, 6 feet tall and weighing about 160 pounds.

Police also said the suspect had some facial hair, short dark hair and was wearing a puffer coat, black pants and brown boots at the time of the robbery.
