DETROIT – Comerica Park is transforming into a support hub this weekend as it hosts its annual Strike Out Cancer Weekend.
The event raises awareness for different types of cancer, celebrates survivors, and supports research and treatment efforts.
The Detroit Tigers' vice president of brand marketing, Asia Gholston, joined Local 4 on Friday (May 23) to discuss what’s happening this weekend at the park.
“We are making it extremely easy for fans to donate and participate,” said Gholston. “When you go to purchase your ticket, you can donate directly to Karmanos Institute there, our special ticket package, and the Detroit vs. Everybody T-shirt, and there will be a few food and beverage items where the proceeds will go towards cancer research.”
