The woman accused of leaving her kids in a Pontiac home for years is finally a free woman after bonding out of jail with a few conditions.

She spent over 100 days behind bars for allegedly leaving her 15, 13, and 12-year-old kids at home for years alone in the worst of conditions.

A University of Michigan Chinese scholar will remain in custody after a federal judge rescheduled her detention hearing in a case involving the alleged smuggling of a potentially dangerous agricultural pathogen through Detroit Metro Airport last summer.
Yunqing Jian, 33, appeared in federal court on Thursday (June 5), where her bond hearing was postponed to next Friday as she seeks to retain private counsel.
Jian and her boyfriend, 34-year-old Zunyong Liu, face charges of conspiracy, smuggling goods into the United States, false statements, and visa fraud.
Man convicted in random 2023 fatal stabbing of woman at Roseville Belle Tire
A man who stabbed a woman to death as she was filling her tires with air at a Belle Tire in Roseville in 2023 has been convicted, officials said.
Shane Burns, 33, of Washington Township, was found guilty of first-degree premeditated murder, assault with intent to murder, felon in possession of a firearm, two counts of felony firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, disarming a peace officer and carrying a concealed weapon. The 33-year-old was also charged as a habitual offender.
After his six-day trial, the jury returned their verdict after just about 20 minutes of deliberations, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office.
Oakland County judge mistreated employees, acted beyond her authority, complaint alleges
The Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission has filed a public complaint against an Oakland County judge due to several allegations of misconduct.
The commission, which investigates judicial misconduct throughout the state, issued the complaint against Oakland County Judge Kirsten Nielsen Hartig on Wednesday, June 4. The judge has 14 days to respond.
Hartig has been a judge for the 52-4 District Court in Troy since January of 2011.
