MACOMB, Mich. – A 33-year-old woman from Macomb County is facing felony charges in a Medicaid fraud scheme.
According to authorities, the Medicaid program offers mileage reimbursement to enrolled beneficiaries for travel to eligible medical appointments. A smartphone app is available to track this mileage via GPS, and upon completion of a trip, reimbursement funds are added to a payment card. This card functions like a debit card and is mailed to beneficiaries upon program registration.
